Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Buyer. Permanent (after completing a 3 month probationary period)
To assist the Purchasing Manager in stock ordering and replenishment, selecting and purchasing new products, and reviewing existing lines, working with suppliers to create strong working relationships with them, ensuring marketing money is secured from suppliers and ensuring the right products and volumes are stocked at the right time, at the right price.

Key Duties
- Manage stock control, including stock ordering, stock replenishment and coordinate stock checks as necessary.
- Review our stock holding for potential additions and deletions.
- Manage and review stock replenishment procedures.
- Track purchase orders, delivery dates and incoming deliveries and address any delays.
- Manage ‘At Risk’ products to minimise business exposure from slow selling lines.
- Liaise with Telesales Manager in respect of slow moving lines, basic analysis of consumer buying patterns and in predicting future trends.
- Source supplier funding for short dated stock, slow moving, replacement stock and samples.
- Creating codes for new products.
- Adherence to the Company Purchasing Policy and a strong commercial awareness.
- Managing and working with existing and new suppliers to meet customer demand, checking any new suppliers are accredited in line with Company Policy before agreeing to trade.
- Arranging for new ranges to be presented to the Purchasing Manager.
- Manage and work with designated suppliers with regards to price negotiations, NPD, promotional planning, product range, new products & de-listed products.
- Monitor suppliers to ensure contract terms and performance is continued, or improved satisfactory performance levels are achieved.
- Recommend and deal with supplier product changes.
- Meet with suppliers on a regular basis and to negotiate local terms per annum.
- Track and manage national and local supplier terms ensuring all targets are met, where possible.
- Attending trade fairs and specifically, CRG events.
- Raise complaints with suppliers for incoming goods where orders are not delivered on time and in full.
- Understanding the market and customer trends and acting on them in line with the needs of the business.
- Effective communication skills with the ability and confidence to discuss relevant issues with various shareholders.
- Work with the Managers to increase marketing revenue through product guide, promotions, telesales focus weeks, marketing pack and exhibitions.
- Working closely with the sales team and Marketing team to drive promotional activity and continually look for ways to maximise spend of the customer on each order.
- Effective delivery and tracking of supplier revenues.

Hours
Monday to Friday, inclusive, 40 Hours per week, (generally 8.30am – 5.00pm but may vary with notification) inclusive of an unpaid 30 minute lunch break.
